Extensive research regarding the public statues and monuments of the capital city of Santiago in Chile. First volume reviews Chiles political history and the importance 19th century commemorative monuments, emblems, numismatic and modern sculpture has had in the symbolic construction of national identity, with definitions of nomenclature and collective and artistic symbols. The second volume is a guide with purposed urban tours to visit the main public art located in the civic center of the city.
