Throughout seven essays, Roger Bartra explores the issue of terror and otherness, as well as their consequences in contemporary society. From an anthropological view, the work shows how foreign, marginal, savage and barbarian represents the otherone that confront, threat and deny its own, an issue that has led a disturbing number of attacks and radical cutting motions that on one hand, threaten cultural diversity and on the other, leads us to question the supposed hegemony of the Western civilization.
