A selection of paintings and sculptures that represent a general view of the 4 main art movements developed in Uruguay during the 20th century: the Foundational movement with works with European influence by Juan Manuel Blanes, José Cuneo Perinetti, Pedro Fiagari, the unique Constructivism movement lead by Joaquín Torres-García, José Gurvich, Francisco Matta, Julio Alpuy, the locally adapted Abstract movement with pieces by Lino Dinetto, Agustin Alaman, Andres Montani, Ricardo Pascale and finally the Geometric movement represented by Maria Freire, José Pedro Costigliolo, Antonio Llorens, Lincon Presno and others. Includes an introductory essay titled Arte con fragancias europeas by Alfredo Torres.
