This 5th edition of the Biennale presented a total of 72 art works (12 of each participating Central American country) representing the best of the regions contemporary art. The international jury represented by María Lovino (Colombia), Mariangela Capuzzo (USA) and Walo Araujo (Panamá) granted the Tiahcuilo prizes to 3 projects that mixed art and politics:
