Grant of nobility for García de Naveda of Belorado, and his five brothers Sancho, Andrés, Pedro, Juan, and Antonio de Naveda, signed and executed on Aug. 2, 1539 in Valladolid. The writ of nobility, issued in response to the Naveda brothers petition for rank as hidalgos , contains the testimony of several neighbors from Belorado: Juan Vicente, a commoner who had known the brothers since they were children, as well as their father Alvaro and their grandfather García, Pedro de Castrillo, Juan Roldán, Juan de Grañón, Pedro de Moral, Alonso Fernández de Baroja, and Juan Ortiz. The carta ejecutoria is signed by licenciados Juan Manuel and Luis de Tejada, and Dr. Ramos. Marginal note on recto of leaf [16], Corr[egid]a , indicates carta was revised and issued in Valladolid on June 22, 1543, by Cristóbal de Sosa (verso of leaf [16]).
