Resumen del Libro

Jose Viñals was born on July 23, 1930 in the township of Corralito in Cordova, Argentina. Son of a Catalan father and Extremenian mother, he regained Spanish citizenship in 1980. He has been living in Spain for 27 years, most of them in Jaen. The following works of his were published in Argentina:the two poetry collections Entrevista con el Pájaro (1969) and Coartada para Dios (1971), the novel Nicolasa verde o nada (1970) and a collection of short stories entitled Miel de avispa (1982). He also published in Argentina an essay on painter Pedro Pont Vergés, El príncipe manco… (1973) and six dialogues with artists – Pagano, Pont Vergés, Cogorno, Farina, Presas and Berni – between 1975 and 1976. In Spain, where has done most of his work in recent years, he has published Poesía reunida (1979), Animales, amores y blasfemias (1988), El cielo (1998), Milagro a milagro (1999), Fondo de ojo (2000), Transmutaciones (2000), which won the Jaime Gil de Biedma Prize, El amor (2002), Elogio de la miniatura (2002), El túnel de las metáforas (2003), the short story collections Ojo alegre y viejísimo (1991) and Rumias, graznidos y gorjeos (2001): the play Escombros (1994) which won the Modesto Higueras Prize, and the novel Padreoscuro (1998).
