A coedition with the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, this is a collection of fundamental works of the Puerto Rican literary tradition. Each volume contains a prologue and notes. The setting of this epistolary novel, originally published in 1903 by Ana Roque, scholar, feminist and suffragist, is the Puerto Rico of the last decade of the 19th century. It tells the story of two women who are close friends and their sentimental experiences in love and marriage.
