In Senses of Distortion I explore the underlying epistemological horizons connecting baroque to neobaroque aesthetics. The premise guiding this research is that crucial moments of 20th century Latin American literary and visual production are distinguished by a logic of distortion and instability that could be foregrounded and further qualified by bringing it in dialogue with the warped, decentered dynamics that define the aesthetics of the 17th century.
