A Christian Democratic senator and potential presidential candidate (in 2000) takes aim at the authoritarian tones of the 1980 Constitution, which continues to stifle the emergence of fully democratic rule in Chile. It lays bare the politics that helped hardline elements to dominate the drafting process and then rig the plebiscite.
