Resumen del Libro

The present research examines the poetics of desire in a group of Spanish and Spanish-American poets. Desire, as a vital impulse that directs the life of human beings, has traditionally been defined by psychoanalytical theory as the absence of, or need for, something. However, Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari, state that desire, more than a want, is an active process that produces reality. From this perspective, the research deals with desire as a productive process. This process implies the connection of heterogeneous elements in a plan of consistency, and includes concepts such as rhizome, plateau, agency, multiplicity, becoming, movements of de-territorialization and re-territorialization, among others. All of these connections have the purpose of generating the flow of desire.
