This collection of postcards recreates the world of the gaucho as a code structure in scenes : field work (the roundup, branding, and slaughter of cattle), horse carriage rides, leisure (taba, horse race, dances), grilling the meat over coals, knife duels and romantic scenes are all typical subjects, many of which were borrowed from late 19th century painting –P.
