El Naturalismo en la Novela Cubana is an in-depth study of Cuban novels published between 1830 and 1927. Sintia Molina examines the term Naturalism from a cultural, social and political perspective. She shows that Cuban writers appropriated the European aesthetic to develop it into an ideology that dominated Cuban narrative for decades, until it evolved into a characteristically Cuban form of artistic expression. Drawing on modern studies of Naturalism, Molina focuses on the unique characteristics of Cuban Naturalism and its influence on early twentieth century Cuban society. (TEXT IN SPANISH)
