This collection reflects the current concern to harmonize and optimize educational practice, pedagogical research and social development. The book analyzes the role of professional competencies in social development. In this sense, it considers formative aspects based on competencies, the recognition of professional competencies and the establishment of competence profiles in multicultural contexts, as fundamental. The book also analyzes the policies of development of social cohesion from international institutions, as well as the contribution of the TIC to social development in terms of impact and it proposes hints and rules in order to promote justice and the necessary social cohesion to coexist democratically as citizens.
