Special focus was put on the following issues: (i) characterization of the influence of the irrigation strategy on tree growth as well as on the main crop yield and quality determinants, (ii) assessment of different plant water status indicators for irrigation scheduling of almond trees, (iii) assessment of the influence of the irrigation strategy on leaf and branch gas exchange, (iv) modelling whole-tree net CO2 assimilation rate accounting for tree water stress.
