Complementing Volume VII of the series, which covers the same years and contains documentation from various archives, this work presents the information contained in the announcements of popular entertainments which appeared in the Diaro de Madrid from its foundation in 1758. Many of the performances mentioned in Volume VII are fleshed out, to produce a detailed panorama of popular entertainments over a period of almost a century.
