In this study the author seeks to deconstruct any preconceived ideas we may have of the southwest part of Arcadia and rebuilds a picture of the `mental and religious landscape during the archaic and classical periods. Approaching the territories of Phigaleia and Pharrasia from a landscape archaeology perspective, she examines the geography of the area, as well as its diverse social, political and ethnic organisation. She also questions whether the idea of the polis as defined elsewhere can be applied here. Spanish text.
