Resumen del Libro

Micaela Bastidas (1744?–1781), wife and revolutionary partner of Tupac Amaru II, played a key role in the indigenous rebellion of 1780 against Spanish colonial rule in the Viceroyalty of Peru. Official documents in Sevilles Archive of The Indies and other repositories provide convincing evidence of her level of involvement in strategic planning, her leadership of rebel forces during her husbands absence, and her role in military logistics. Garroted, then drawn and quartered, Micaela Bastidas ultimately suffered the same fate as her husband.
