This study of change and continuity in the Central sierras of Argentina examines the affects of contact between the indigenous population and colonising Spaniards, at the end of the sixteenth century. Based on excavations at four sites in the upper reaches of the Copacabana river and on the artefacts (pottery, stone) and environmental evidence found there.
